ABOUT US
Woof and Whiskers was created because I wanted to offer something I felt was missing.
Not just someone to walk a dog, provide a home while you're away or pop in to feed the cat.
But someone who genuinely takes the time to understand the animal they're caring for. Someone who sees the responsibility that comes with being trusted with somebody else's dog or cat.
Someone who genuinely cares about getting it right.
People often ask why I started this business.
The honest answer is that I knew exactly how I wanted people to feel when they left their animal with me.
Reassured. Confident. Certain they had chosen someone who would care about getting it right.
That feeling has guided every decision I've made since. How I communicate. How I care for the animals I'm trusted with. The standards I set for myself. And the way I continue to learn.
A genuine love for animals is at the heart of everything I do. I've always been fascinated by the way animals think, communicate and experience the world around them.
The more I learn, the more I realise how much there is still to understand.
I don't see that as a challenge. I see it as part of the privilege of caring for them.
Learning has never been about collecting qualifications or being able to say I know more.
It's about becoming a better carer. Every course, every qualification and every conversation with other professionals helps me look at animals with a little more understanding than I had before.
And I believe that's something the animals I'm trusted with deserve.
I don't think good care is made up of big gestures.
I think it's made up of small ones. Taking the time to listen. Paying attention to behaviour that seems a little different. Being honest with owners. Asking questions instead of making assumptions. Taking responsibility.
Those things might not be the most visible part of what I do.
But I believe they're the things that matter most.
If you've taken the time to read this page, thank you.
I hope it's given you a better understanding of who I am, what matters to me and the care I aim to provide every day.
